Singapore Fresh Fruit Market Update – Week 38, 2026
Singapore’s fresh fruit market remained relatively soft in Week 38, with overall buying activity still cautious and no major improvement in wholesale demand.
While several fruit categories continued to see stable or softer pricing, selected products are experiencing short-term supply tightness. This week, blueberries and lemons are among the key items to watch, while the market is also waiting to see whether Mid-Autumn Festival demand will provide a late boost to pomelo sales.

Blueberry Supply Tightens
Blueberries remain an important category in the Singapore market, but supply of 14mm blueberries is currently limited.
Despite the tighter availability, comparable blueberry quotations generally remained soft compared with the previous week. This reflects the wider market environment, where buyers continue to be selective and overall demand remains cautious.
The supply situation will remain important to monitor, particularly for larger-calibre fruit where availability can have a stronger impact on pricing.
Lemon Market Remains Firm This Week
Lemon supply is also tight this week.
Market pricing is currently holding at approximately S$31 to S$32 per carton, supported by the temporary shortage in available stock.
However, the situation could change quickly. Several containers are expected to arrive around 24 September, which could increase supply significantly.
If the expected arrivals enter the market as planned, lemon prices may come under pressure next week. Buyers and traders will therefore be watching incoming volumes closely.
Pomelo Demand Still Quiet Ahead of Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally an important period for pomelo sales, but demand has not shown a significant increase so far.
Wholesale activity for pomelo remained relatively quiet during Week 38, with no major festival-driven surge in buying.
With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching next week, the market will be watching to see whether consumer and retail demand picks up closer to the celebration period.
A late increase in sales activity is still possible, although there has been limited evidence of stronger demand this week.
Wholesale Pricing Remains Generally Soft
Across the comparable products reviewed between Week 37 and Week 38, the overall pricing trend remained soft.
Of the 16 strict like-for-like wholesale SKUs compared:
8 recorded lower prices
7 remained unchanged
1 recorded a price increase
This continues to reflect a market where supply remains available across many categories while purchasing activity is relatively cautious.
Retailers are also running promotions across several fruit categories, including blueberries, pomelo and U.S. grapes. However, promotional activity at retail level has not yet resulted in a significant improvement in wholesale demand.
What to Watch Next Week
The Singapore fruit market could become more active as the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches.
Three areas will be particularly important:
Lemon arrivals – Expected container arrivals around 24 September could ease the current shortage and place downward pressure on prices.
Blueberry availability – Supply of 14mm blueberries remains tight and will continue to influence short-term market conditions.
Pomelo demand – The market will be watching for a possible late increase in buying activity ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
For now, the overall market remains cautious, with buyers continuing to focus closely on price, availability and product quality.
