The Singapore wholesale fruit market stayed cautious in Week 26. Demand was still not broadly strong, and buyers continued to move carefully by origin, pack size and price point. The key changes this week came more from supply movement than from stronger demand.

China Hami melon was one of the clearer, softer items. Supply increased during the week, and prices came down slightly. China Hami Melon moved lower compared with last week, giving buyers a more attractive entry point for melon, especially while the wider market remains price-sensitive.

South Africa lemon also showed a softer tone. The quotation sheet still printed stable levels across the main counts, but ground feedback suggests supply has increased and market prices have started to ease slightly. This is a category to watch, as the softer sentiment may become more visible in next week’s pricing.

Grapes remained tight, especially the pre-packed China segment. The market is currently short on 10 x 500g pre-packed grapes. There are still some China arrivals, but supply remains limited. According to China sources, part of the available volume has been directed to Indonesia, where the market is able to fetch better prices. This has kept Singapore's availability tighter.

U.S. cherry prices looked more stable this week. This is a change from last week, when importers were trying to move stock quickly and prices were being cut more aggressively. Week 26 cherry pricing suggests the market has found a steadier level, with less panic selling compared with the previous week.

Blueberry supply also stabilised. Peru and Zimbabwe remain the main active origins, and prices have been relatively stable over the past two weeks. Selected lines eased slightly, but the movement was not sharp. Buyers are still likely to focus on freshness, size and sell-through risk rather than taking heavy positions.

New item flow continued this week, with USA Santina and Dark Sweet cherries, USA plum lines, Donut Nectarine, Vietnam White Flesh Dragonfruit and Australia Hass Avocado 10kg premium pack appearing in the market. These new items widened the selection available to buyers, but the overall market tone remains cautious.

Overall, Week 26 was a selective market rather than a strong market. Items with improved supply, such as China honey melon and South Africa lemon, showed softer sentiment. At the same time, tighter categories such as pre-packed China grapes remained firm in availability. For buyers, the key focus remains careful stock planning, close attention to origin and pack size, and taking advantage of value where supply has loosened.

there is no honey melon, only hami melon
