School holiday demand stayed weak, while higher supply pushed several fruit categories lower.

The Singapore wholesale fruit market remained soft in Week 24. With the school holiday period starting, more families travelled overseas, and overall fruit demand stayed weak. Buyers remained cautious, especially as consumers continued to be price-sensitive.

Compared with Week 23, most repeated SKUs moved lower. NZ apple lines softened, Australia Crimson Red grape eased, USA Donut Peach came down, and Australia Hass avocado was slightly lower. This reflects a market that is still defensive rather than demand-led.

Pome was one of the clearer softening categories. NZ Envy Apple was quoted at S$62 for 30pc HG, S$98 for 70pc HG, S$95 for 80pc HG and S$90 for 80pc SG. NZ Rose Apple traded around S$29–S$56, Dazzle Apple at S$32–S$60, and Pacific Rose at S$30–S$60. China Namshui Pear appeared at S$24.50, while South Africa Fuji Apple was quoted at S$37–S$38.

Citrus also came under pressure. South Africa Malachite Lemon was quoted at S$34 across 88pc, 100pc and 113pc counts. The lemon market corrected lower as supply increased, after a tighter period earlier. Australia Daisy Mandarin appeared at S$26, while China Wogan was quoted at S$15.

Grapes remained price-sensitive. Australia Crimson Red Grape eased to S$29 for 9kg, while China Shine Muscat appeared at S$23.50–S$25, offering a more affordable option for buyers looking beyond premium Australian lines.

Melon supply improved during the week. China 86King Hami Melon was quoted at S$20, then later softened to S$18.50 as more supply entered the market. Spain Charentais Melon also moved lower, quoted at S$53 this week.

Blueberry supply is reduced, but the market is seeing more origin diversity beyond China. Peru Super Jumbo Blueberry, 22mm, was quoted at S$34 for 125g x 12 punnets.

Cherry and stonefruit remained selective. Turkey Ziraat900 Red Cherry was quoted at S$61–S$63, while USA Donut Peach was quoted at S$77, lower than last week’s level.

Overall, Week 24 remained a weak and price-driven market. Supply is available in several categories, but buyers are still cautious, and importers are avoiding heavy inventory exposure. The key focus this week is still stock discipline, sharper pricing, and careful selection by origin and size.
